Scheynost Law Offices announces it recently obtained one of its largest workers’ compensation awards for an injured worker. An employee we represented in his claim through his formal hearing was found to be totally disabled and will now receive weekly benefits that amount to $744,730 over his remaining work life. This award has a present value of $622,679, and became final on December 23, 2016.
The employee sustained injuries at work that caused Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), required the implantation of a Spinal Cord Stimulator, and prevented him from working in any job. The workers’ compensation carrier stopped paying benefits to him in April of 2016 and its last offer to settle the claim was less than half of the present value of the amount awarded.
