Patrick Roth

Patrick is a Southwest Louisville native, having attended Valley Elementary, Layne Elementary, Shively Christian School and Jesse Stuart High School. He graduated in 1979. He next attended the University Of Louisville and graduated from the School of Business in 1985 and finally the School of Law in 1988.

 

Patrick’s first and only law clerking job was with the Kentucky Department of Labor, Division of the Special Fund, where he first learned about workers compensation law. After graduating law school, Patrick worked for a law firm doing various sorts of legal matters (i.e. probate, family law, bankruptcy, district court, criminal law, etc.).

In 1993, he returned to the Kentucky Department of Labor, Division of the Special Fund, to work as an attorney. In 1998, Patrick moved to the Kentucky Department of Labor, Division of Workers Compensation Specialists. He later began working for the General Counsel’s Office for the Commissioner of the Department of Workers Claims. In 2006, Patrick moved to the Attorney General’s Office and began working as an Assistant Attorney General for the Uninsured Employers Fund. He retired from that job in 2019.

Patrick has over 30 years of experience practicing law, particularly in the area of workers compensation law. He has given oral arguments before the Kentucky Court of Appeals and practiced before the Kentucky Supreme Court. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.
